2025 Guide: The Lodge at Columbia Point
Growing up in Western Washington, I didn’t explore much beyond the Cascade Mountains, aside from summer trips to Leavenworth and Wenatchee. So, it wasn’t until the winter of 2025 that I finally visited the Tri-Cities for the first time—with my Labrador Retriever, Lilo, by my side.
If you’ve ever traveled with a dog, you know that “dog-friendly” isn’t just a label—it’s about finding a place where your pup will truly feel welcome. The Lodge at Columbia Point exceeded our expectations in every way. From the thoughtful dog care package waiting in our room (more on that below!) to scenic strolls along the Riverfront Trail just steps from our door, it was the perfect retreat for both of us. And the staff? They earned plenty of tail wags for their warm greetings and dog-loving energy!

If you’re visiting the Tri-Cities (particuarly Richland), this hotel is definitely a stay worth considering. (And not just because it is the area’s only 4-star hotel!) This area is where the Columbia, Yakima, and Snake Rivers merge and it is nestled in the southeastern part of Washington State. The cities include Richland, Kennewick, and Pasco. If you were passing through the area on highway 182, the three cities seem to blend together. And that is where the nickname “Tri-Cities” comes from.
For our weekend getaway, we were drawn to the scenic location of this hotel. Besides being on the river, it is conveniently next to Columbia Point Marina Park as well as the Riverfront Trail. Overall, the neighborhood felt very safe and quiet (it is shouldered by a golf course and a few retirement communities). This is a big plus for me as female traveler.

That being said, the hotel is a quick 5-minute drive to Richland’s historic town center, also known as The Parkway. To my delight, there are plenty of cute places to eat and shop here. Some of my favorites? Soi 705 for a cozy Asian fusion dinner and Ethos Bakery for a warm cup of coffee. Overall, we found that having a home base at The Lodge at Columbia Point struck the perfect balance between natural beauty and urban convenience.

Amazing Amenities That Make Your Stay Special
Luxurious Outdoor Covered Pool & Hot Tub

I’ll be honest—I didn’t do much digging into the hotel’s amenities before checking in. So, you can imagine my surprise when I stepped into the open-air pool area for the first time. My jaw dropped. Not only is the space expansive, but it gives off serious Tuscan courtyard vibes—like a warm summer night, even in the middle of winter. With string lights overhead, a cozy fireplace, and plenty of seating, it felt like its own little retreat. And the view? A stunning panorama of the Columbia River. I spent my evening happily rotating between the generously sized jetted spa and the heated pool, soaking it all in.
I will say, because the hotel sits next to the popular Riverfront Trail and Anthony’s Restaurant, some of the seating areas aren’t the most private. But if you grab a spot closer to the hotel’s walls, it’s easy to carve out your own little oasis.
Bicycles
One of the best ways to explore the 23-mile paved Riverfront Trail is on two wheels, and The Lodge at Columbia Point makes it easy with complimentary cruiser bikes. Guests can borrow sleek white cruisers from the high-end brand Priority—perfect for a scenic ride along the Columbia River.
While I didn’t get the chance to take one for a spin this time, it’s definitely on my list for a return trip in warmer weather. I can already picture it: cruising along the waterfront, sun on my face, and a post-ride coffee stop at one of Richland’s charming cafés. Sounds like the perfect way to spend a morning!
Drumheller Restaurant

If you think you know hotel restaurants, think again. The approachable elegant Drumheller Restaurant is located in the center of the hotel and offers excellent views of the Columbia River. It serves breakfast, weekend brunch, and dinner. While staying at The Lodge at Columbia Point, you can even order room service from here! So if you want to really stay in, this is the ideal way to do it.
We enjoyed a delicious, beautifully-plated breakfast with a window seat. For me, the star of the show was the baked apple french toast. More than your average french toast, the bread itself reminded me of moist banana bread. And the fresh apple slices and salted maple glazed pecans were a lovely touch! 10/10 would order again.
Columbia Point Spa

Need a self-care day? The Lodge at Columbia Point has you covered. Treat yourself to a massage—whether you’re in the mood for deep tissue, hot stone, or a full 90-minute session, there’s an option to melt away any tension. Then, take your relaxation up a notch with a European-style facial treatment, designed to leave your skin feeling refreshed and glowing.
What makes the spa experience even better is its prime location—right next to the pool and hot tub. My advice? Make a whole afternoon of it. Start with a soak in the jetted spa to loosen up, then head to your massage for some serious unwinding. Afterward, dip into the heated pool or stretch out by the fireplace with a good book. However you choose to indulge, this little oasis makes it easy to slow down and soak it all in—literally.

What To Expect During Your Visit
Free Parking
One of the little luxuries that made my stay at The Lodge at Columbia Point even better? The hassle-free parking. There’s plenty of space in the main lot, plus a few convenient spots right up front in the roundabout—perfect for a quick and easy check-in or unloading your bags. No circling the block, no stress—just pull up, park, and start relaxing.
Wine
This hotel fully embraces the Tri-Cities’ renowned wine country, and it shows in all the details. Outside each of the 80 guest rooms, you’ll find the name of a local winery—an elegant nod to the region’s rich viticulture. Inside, every room is stocked with wine glasses and a selection of bottles (available for purchase), making it easy to unwind with a glass of Washington’s finest.
If you’re thinking about visiting a winery or two during your stay, just stop by the front desk. The concierge is more than happy to share recommendations, whether you’re looking for a laid-back tasting room or a full vineyard experience.
Dog Care Package
Upon check-in, we entered our room to find a package for Lilo that included 2 bowls, biscuit treats, and a blanket/sheet for her. I don’t know about you, but I always like to call ahead-of-time so that I know if I need to pack bowls. One less thing to worry about!

With top-notch amenities and a prime location near Richland’s charming downtown, there really isn’t a bad time to visit The Lodge at Columbia Point. No matter the season, the combination of riverside views, cozy spaces, and easy access to local dining makes for a memorable stay.
We visited right on the cusp of winter and spring, and while the weather wasn’t always perfect, it didn’t take away from the experience. Between scenic walks, relaxing soaks in the hot tub, and exploring downtown, we found plenty to enjoy—rain or shine!
