Spilling The Tea On The Spellbinding New Harry Potter Airbnb
Looking for the best Harry Potter Airbnb to book for your dream getaway? It simply doesn’t get more magical than the newly completed Half-Giant Hut (aka Hagrid’s Hut).

While you can find Harry Potter–inspired vacation rentals all over the world—especially in Orlando, Florida, and the UK—this one rests in the heart of the beautiful Pacific Northwest. And having grown up here, I’m definitely biased… but there’s truly nothing else quite like it in this region. If you time your visit with our famously moody weather, you’re in for a stay that feels straight out of the pages of the books or the set of the films.

2025 Complete Guide to the Half-Giant Hut

After 8 years of planning, building, and imaginative crafting, this one-of-a-kind, family-built Airbnb officially opened in spring 2025. Around that same time, my 28th birthday was approaching—and honestly, none of my celebration ideas were sparking excitement. Then, just a week before, I stumbled upon the Half-Giant Hut. By a stroke of luck (or magic?), my birthday dates were available… and the rest is history.
This enchanted review is based on my experience during the first week of May.

Where is the Pacific Northwest’s Harry Potter Airbnb located?

You’ll find the Half-Giant Hut tucked into the forest in a quiet farming town called Toledo, Washington, located in Lewis County—also known as the “Gateway to Mount St. Helens.” (That’s the famous Cascade Range volcano known for its massive 1980 eruption and for being a sister mountain to Mount Rainier.)
Getting to Toledo, Washington:
- From Portland (PDX airport): 1 hour 10 min drive
- From Seattle (SEA-TAC airport): 1 hour 35 min drive
A heads-up before you grab your Floo Powder: the Half-Giant Hut sits off a gravel road outside of town. While it’s not the most central location, it’s the perfect nature escape to cozy up, rewatch the films, and reread your favorite chapters. The experience alone made the trip worth it for me.

What’s Inside the Hut
With one bedroom and a pull-down Murphy bed, the Harry Potter Airbnb known as the Half-Giant Hut can comfortably sleep up to 4 guests.
The owners really went all out. From handcrafted wooden furniture large enough to suit a half-giant (yes, seriously), to charming design touches, every detail feels intentionally magical. Expect oversized kitchen chairs and table, tall couches, and even a towering sink and vanity—complete with steps to help you reach!

The open-concept bedroom (no door here, just like a true rustic hut) features an extra-large bed—even bigger than a standard king—plus a full-length mirror and vaulted ceilings. The bathroom has everything you need, including a generous walk-in rain shower, a charming old-fashioned pull-chain toilet, and a beautifully designed vanity area.
The main room includes a cozy mini kitchenette with a microwave, mini fridge, coffee maker, tea kettle, and sink. It’s all open-concept, shared with the living space, making it perfect for snacking on Chocolate Frogs while watching movies.

Throughout the Half-Giant Hut, keep your eyes open for magical surprises: dragons, Cornish pixies, Nifflers, and more. Don’t forget to explore the giant trunk filled with Harry Potter–themed games, books, puzzles, and even a DIY craft you’ll definitely want to try!

What’s Outside the Hut

When you pull up to this unforgettable Harry Potter Airbnb, you’ll be greeted by none other than a replica of the 1962 Ford Anglia—yes, the Weasley’s flying car! It’s unlocked, so go ahead and hop inside. It makes for an epic photo op.
Also on the grounds: Professor Sprout’s Greenhouse. While you can’t go inside (Mandrakes need their rest, after all), you can peek through the glass and admire the details.
Even more exciting? The owners plan to add a Knight Bus replica to the property soon—so stay tuned!
A Few Notes from the Half-Giant’s Notebook: What to Expect During Your Stay

Neighborhood Tips
If you can, aim to arrive during daylight hours. The gravel roads are smooth, but slightly tricky to navigate—especially if you’re relying on Google Maps. We had no cell service once we got close, so I highly recommend screenshotting the check-in instructions and keypad code ahead of time.
Also, a little heads-up: we ran into a friendly (but barky) off-leash black dog from a nearby home more than once. Drive slowly and give a wave to any locals you pass!
Lighting
Lighting in the hut is primarily through scattered lamps and charming light switches, which add to the cozy, candlelit feel. Once you arrive, check the instruction sheet on the kitchen table for how to navigate it all.
Wifi & Phone Service

Due to the remote location, cell service is spotty or nonexistent. But don’t worry—the WiFi was strong and easy to connect to. Just be sure to research and screenshot any nearby attractions before you go exploring.
Harry Potter Movie Night
If you’re like me, you’re going to want to rewatch the movies ASAP. All eight Harry Potter films, plus the Fantastic Beasts series, are saved to the Fandango app on the Roku TV for your viewing pleasure.
Sightseeing Near the Harry Potter Airbnb
While we mostly stayed close to the hut, here are a few nearby gems worth checking out:
- Lewis & Clark State Park – 10 minute drive
- Mount St. Helens (Coldwater Lake, Hummocks Trail) – 1 hour drive
- Skydive Toledo – For the thrill-seekers! (Or keep your feet on the ground like me and watch the skydivers float down from above)

This post was all about why the Half-Giant Hut is the ultimate Harry Potter Airbnb.
