6 Best Coffee Shops in Portland Oregon
Kalesa Coffee
As luck would have it, my favorite cup of joe during my trip to Portland was my last! (Don’t be like me and wait to visit Kalesa until the end of your trip!)
What makes this small but mighty coffee shop special is the heart it pours into its Filipino-inspired drinks.
My recommendation is to try the Coconut Cold Brew with ube whipped cream. It’s perfectly sweet, refreshing for summer days, and is totally instagrammable!
Ube whip gets its vibrant color from purple yams, and is a must-try. Try adding it to your go-to drink!
As someone with Filipino heritage, I love their mission. And, the sense of community at Kalesa is so strong!
You’ll find them Tuesday-Saturdays in the corner of the Gotham Building, located at 722 N Page Street, Portland, Oregon 97227.
Sisters Coffee Company
Originally brewed from a cabin in Central Oregon, Sisters Coffee Company now happily serves up delicious drinks, pastries, and brunch foods at 3 cafes. In Portland, their cafe is located in the Pearl District.
Hands down, this is one of the most walkable areas of the Rose City. The architecture is beautiful, the people are friendly, and there’s tons of great shops and places to eat.
Or, if you’re looking for a cafe to settle in for awhile, then you’ll love the abundant indoor (two stories) and outdoor seating. And, the way natural light pours into the space is lovely!
My recommendation is to take your pick of the barista specials, which vary by location. Plus, come hungry to make this a two-in-one stop with a generous food menu including sandwiches and toasts. Be sure to get your food order in before 2pm!
Sisters Coffee Company is open daily at 1235 Northwest Marshall St, Portland, Oregon.

Less and More Coffee
Looking for a quick coffee run downtown? Try Less and More Coffee, housed in a vintage bus stop. While the kiosk is sure to catch your eye, it’s the aesthetically-pleasing drinks that will prove why it’s one of the can’t-miss coffee shops in Portland Oregon!
Known for their signature drinks with homemade cream, enjoy amazing drinks like the cloud cream mocha, black sesame creme latte, or hojicha latte (espresso + green tea from Japan).
Traveling with someone who isn’t a coffee drinker? Both my partner and best friend fall into this category, and they’ve both loved Less & More’s ube latte. It’s a hot, comforting blend of purple sweet potato and steamed milk. Plus, it looks so fun!
During your visit, tag me on Instagram so I can see your cute drinks!
You can even place your order online.
Head to 1003 SW 5th Ave, Portland, Oregon 97204 for the kiosk location. Or, consider their second location near Pioneer Courthouse Square at 811 SW 6th Ave, Portland, OR 97204 (not housed in a bus stop).
Stumptown Coffee Roasters
Based in Portland, Stumptown Coffee Roasters is a B-Corp roaster that prioritizes sustainability.
In total, there’s 6 Stumptown locations in the city! Personally, my favorite is SW Washington. There’s a beautiful mural next door, and Powell’s Books (the largest independent bookstore in the world) is only a couple blocks away!
During summer, my favorite summer seasonal drink is the rose gold latte. Another fun one is the spicy strawberry mocha.
You can place an order online.
1140 SW Washington St, Portland, OR 97205
Bestie Tip: Stumptown Coffee Roasters has a location within PDX, the Portland airport. So you can grab it as soon as you land or take it with on your flight home!

Ken’s Artisan Bakery
Out of all the best coffee shops in Portland Oregon, Ken’s Artisan Bakery is the only one we visited twice during out visit! Why? 3 words: The Oregon Croissant.
It’s a dreamy combination of blueberries, blackberries, and hazelnut cream. Be sure to order it warmed up and for-here, I promise it’s worth the wait!
Coffee is crafted using beans from Relevant Coffee, based out of Vancouver, Washington.
It’s wise to schedule a little extra time in for Ken’s Artisan Bakery, as this is a very locally loved spot. If you’re really dedicated, like me and my bestie, you may even wait in the line with your suitcases before heading to the airport haha!
You’ll find them daily at 338 NW 21st Avenue, Portland, OR.
Coava Coffee Roasters
If you find yourself in the Central Eastside area of Portland, it’s worth swinging by Coava Coffee‘s roasting location. Here, they roast single origin speciality coffee.
Housed in a converted warehouse, their space is open, airy, and welcoming. Whether you’re catching up with a friend, replying to emails, or journaling, there’s plenty of indoor space.
Note that Coava Coffee doesn’t stock many syrups or sauces, so this is the place to enjoy simpler drinks and appreciate the quality of the cup!
Interested in stocking up? This is a great place to get 64 oz matcha, cold brew, iced chai, or iced latte to take home with you.
1300 SE Grand Ave a, Portland, OR 97214
